I had the pleasure of connecting with Derek a year ago to help with an investigation he was conducting.  He then taught me animal tracking, backpacking and survival skills to help become equiped to enjoy the Olympic Mountains.  My first backpacking trip was with Derek, hiking up to a ridge, watching him set trail cams like those on his web site.

The techniques I learned from Derek gave me the confidence I needed to hike and backpack on the mountain trails and ridges.  Derek also shared his knowledge with trail camera setup and placement.  I now use trail cameras for my investigations of wildlife.
